Mount Meru Climbing program

Mount Meru is located in Tanzania and is the fifth highest mountain in Africa. It is a great mountain to climb and offers spectacular scenery, including views of Mount Kilimanjaro. The mountain is unspoilt and less congested as compared to it's Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya counterparts.

Location: Mount Meru, Arusha, Tanzania

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro airport
Arrival at Kilimanjaro airport, met by a Dove Safaris Driver/guide transfer to Impala Hotel / Kibo Palace hotel for Dinner and Overnight

Day 2: Arusha - Miriakamba Hut
Mt. Meru Park Gate - Miriakamba: 4-5 hour
Drive from Arusha to the Mt. Meru park gate where you will be met by our game ranger and porters. Hike for the few hours to Miriakamba Hut at 8,500 ft. From here you may wish to take an evening walk on the slopes to view wildlife at one of the watering holes in the crater. Dinner and overnight rest at Miriakamba Hut, L, D

Day 3: Miriakamba Hut - Saddle Hut
Miriakamba - Saddle Hut: 3-4 hours
After breakfast hike to up to 11,500 ft to arrive at Saddle Hut. If time permits you can climb a little further on Mount Meru for a scenic view of the 'Roof of Africa', Mount Kilimanjaro. This will also be part of more acclimatization. Overnight at Saddle Hut, B, L, D

Day 4: Saddle Hut - Summit - Arusha
Saddle Hut - Summit: 4-6 hours
An early rise to hike all the way to the summit before the afternoon clouds cover the summit. From the summit, Descend to the park gate to connect with your waiting transfer vehicle back to your Arusha Kibo Palace Hotel, continue with other programs or depart, B. B,L,D.

Day 5 Lake Manyara National park:
depart for Lake Manyara National park famed for its abundant bird life. Tree climbing lion and large herds of elephants for afternoon game viewing. Dinner and overnight at Loswira luxury tented Camp.

Day 6 Ngorongoro crater:
With picnic lunches, leave Manyara after breakfast for Ngorongoro crater for full day game viewing with a lunch break at Ngoitoktok springs. Ngorongoro crater is the one of the wonders of the world. So nicknamed by many visitors on their first visit. The Ngorongoro conservation area 184sq km has three other small craters Oldean, Olmoti and Empakai to the Northern and contains animal's population of varied species. It was once a caldera. Return late afternoon to Rhino Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 Tarangire National park
After breakfast, depart to Tarangire from Ngorongoro arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game viewing in Tarangire National park one of the most beautiful herds moves down from Ngorongoro, Manyara and surroundings game reserve to fetch water and food as Tarangire is always full of vegetation. Dinner and overnight at Kikoti Tented Camp

Day 8 - Tarangire National park - Arusha
After breakfast drive to arusha for flight Back Home
