Welcome to Emayani Beach Lodge

Emayani is a small & friendly lodge built in a coconut grove on the shore of Tanzania’s mainland, just opposite to Zanzibar island.

Our palm-thatched bungalows provide comfortable accommodation with a ‘Robinson Crusoe’ ambience. All have verandas with superb views of the Indian Ocean, large cool rooms with comfortable beds, and ‘en suite’ bathrooms.

When you visit us we want you to feel at home, and at ease. There are no stuffy rules, or inflexible timings. So leave your watch in your room, kick off your shoes, enjoy the warm white sand and the clear blue water.

Emayani is the perfect place to unwind; however you like to do that. If you fancy sunning yourself we have miles of almost deserted pristine white beach for you.

If you like to curl up with a good read we have sunbeds in the shade of the coconut palms, where you won’t be distracted till the waiter brings the sundowner you ordered. We are very pleased to announce that turtle eggs we transferred to the protected spot at Emayani are now hatching.

They are hatching right in front of the Kasa divers center. Hundreds of baby turtles have already emerged. More hatchings are expected on the 8th of Oct and the 22nd of Oct.

Kasa Divers is based at Emayani so just a few meters walking on the beach and you are right on the spot. Emayani is the perfect place for you to relax after a nice dive trip! Take a nap on your shady veranda with a nice breeze and amazing view of the Indian Ocean. If you feel hungry after your dive adventure order a light tasty lunch in the restaurant. Read, relax or take a long walk in the afternoon on the white sand beach. Take your shoes of be yourself and feel home!

To get to Emayani and Kasa Divers you have different options. By car from Dar es Salaam (377km), Arusha (436km) and Tanga (66km) via Pangani another 17km south after the ferry crossing. Daily flights from Arusha, Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam are landing at Kwa Joni airstrip 5 min away from the lodge. It is also possible to reach the beach by bus or taxi.
